Studio Sephira

The bellydance vendors bazaar will be open to the general public on Saturday morning and Sunday morning between 9am and 10am as well as between 12:30pm & 1:30pm on Sunday. The bazaar is located in the balcony of the banquet room at the Lion's Community Centre on St. George street and is part of the Elise Olmi workshop weekend.

Since my last update, a lot of wonderful dance experiences have happened in my life. The one that brought me most joy is the June show that I put on with my students. I felt it was a most amazing success and, if I go by the feedback I received in the hours, days & months following the event, so did the students and audience members. Just last week I met someone who was there and they enthusiastically shared their appreciation for the evening spent enjoying the variety of dances, beautiful costumes and smiling faces of the students.

Moving house in my personal life has taken a lot of my focus in the past 2 months and so extra projects like playing with the web site and the hiring & training of a new assistant have taken the back burner. Now that I am fairly well settled into my new home, my focus is starting to set on the Year End Show being presented on June 20th.

The position is for 20 hours a month and so is perfect for someone who can be very flexible with their work time and wishes to supplement their income. I am very happy with the student Christmas party that was held on Dec 21st at the dance studio this year. The performances were excellent and I congratulate everyone who got up an danced. I was so very proud for a lot of you who put yourselves out there for the first time!

I'm finally landing from my weekend workshop with Amar Gamal in Saint John last weekend. She was a fabulous instructor, generous in spirit, and I really appreciated being there learning from her over the course of the weekend. I also had the opportunity to meet up with old friends, make new ones, shop and perform. All in all, a very fun excursion.

Classes are well under way, the hole in the ceiling is fixed, the air conditioning unit is being installed and a direct entrance to the studio space is just about ready for us to use. Things are going well in the new space and are about to get better!

Rectangular Veil Intensives

I am very pleased to say that classes are off to a great start and I am very happy with 'La rentree' this year. The women & the energy in the classes is wonderful and I am looking forward to working with all of you! I'd like to give a tip of the hat to Sharon for helping me stay organized. With the exception of the huge hole in the ceiling (that I was told would be fixed by the end of this month), I must say that the new studio space is very nice and I feel very good teaching there.

With September just around the corner, dance classes are soon to start, filling the air with sounds of shimmy belts for another year of delightful dancing.
