Monday Night Technique Intensive Sessions 2011-2012

The Monday Night Technique Intensive Sessions run from 6:35pm to 7:35pm. The cost of a session is $55 +hst unless otherwise indicated.

These sessions focus on technique and are offered to help students deepen their understanding of subjects taught in regular classes, introduce students to subject matter not covered in regular classes, offer advanced level subject matter and help prepare student for an upcoming show. Students are required to have completed a minimum of 1 intermediate level session in order to register.

Session 1: Arms & Hands - September 26th to October 31st
Session 2 : Shimmies - November 7th to December 5th
Session 3 : Cane - December 12th to January 23rd
Session 4 : Turkish Rom - January 30th to February 27th
Session 5 : Floor Work - March 12th to April 9th
Session 6 : Rectangular Veil - April 16th to May 14th
Session 7: Double Veils - May 28th to June 25th

Wednesday Night Choreography Intensive Sessions 2011-2012

The Wednesday Night Choreography Intensive Sessions run from 6:35pm to 7:35pm. The cost of a session is $110 +hst, unless otherwise indicated.

They focus on learning a complete choreography that which students may chose (or not) to perform at various events hosted by Studio Sephira during a season. Students are required to have completed a minimum of 2 intermediate level sessions as well as any indicated intensive session in order to register. Students who have not completed a full year of intermediate level classes are required to simultaneously attend a regular intermediate level class at the same time as the choreography intensive.

Session 1 : Habibi Dah - September 28th to November 30th
Session 2 : Drum Solo - December 7th to February 22nd
Session 3 : Cane Dance - February 29th to May 9th
Session 4 : Ah Ya Zein - May 16th to June 13th ( 5 weeks )

Thursday Night (Ongoing) Zills & Ryhtms Intensive Session 2011-2012

The Thursday Night Zills & Rythms Intensive Sessions run from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. The cost of a session is TBA.

This is an ongoing class that will focus on developing zill & darabuka technique. Students can register for a full session or do drop in classes as their schedule allows. This intensive is offered to help students deepen their understanding of middle eastern music. It will also help students learn to play an instrument and incorporate it into their dance. Students are required to have completed a minimum of 1 intermediate level session in order to register.

Thursday Night (Ongoing) Bellydance Theory & Beyond Intensive Session 2011-2012

The Thursday Bellydance Theory & Beyond Intensive Sessions run from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. The cost of a session is TBA.

This is an ongoing class that will focus on a wide variety of subjects that are either directly or inderictely related the the dance. Students can register for a full session or do drop in classes as their schedule allows. This intensive is offered to help students deepen their understanding of how this art form embodies not only the physical, but also the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our life experience.

Session 1 : September 29th to December 1st
Session 2 : December 8th to February 23rd
Session 3 : March 1st to May 10th
Session 4 : May 17th to June 14th ( 5 weeks )

Thursday Night (Ongoing) Creative Intensive Session 2011-2012

The Ongoing Creative Intensive Session will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday evening. The cost of a session is TBA.

It will focus on the creative process within a group dynamic with the final goal of performing finished choreography & sets at the events such as the annual student shows, the Mosaiq Multicultural Festival, ect. Students are required to have completed a minimum of 2 years of regular intermediate classes and are required to simultaneously attend either a regular or advanced intermediate class in order to request becoming part of this intensive. There will be a maximum number of 10 for this class. Once registered, students are expected to commit to 3 consecutive sessions.
